Josiah was born in Auburn, AL, but spent most of his childhood in Jonesboro, AR. He is married to Sarah, and they have four children, Emily, Isaiah, Olivia, and Asher. Josiah has served in a variety of ministry contexts, including campus ministry through Campus Outreach and post-collegiate ministry through Downline, and he has held supporting pastoral roles at both the Village Church in Dallas, TX, and Harvest Church in Germantown, TN. He was the planting pastor when Eastside launched in 2018. He holds a Master’s in Biblical Studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he is currently working toward certification with the Association of Biblical Counselors through the Gospel Care Collective.

Josiah hopes that Eastside would be a community that is obsessed with Jesus, sees God as He has revealed Himself, sees people as individuals, welcomes everyone and their questions, and loves one another deeply. He desires for people to be so convinced of God’s love for them that they would be free to look out from themselves with sincere love for the world around them. He longs to serve and be a part of a community that is authentically honest and dependently hopeful as they experience and express the love of God to their families and neighbors!
